Canadian Pacific's Holiday Train travels through the northeastern United States bringing entertainment, holiday cheer and the Christmas sprit of giving.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be making its annual run through the Northeastern states of The United States, bringing Christmas entertainment and the spirit of holiday giving to cities across New York State and Pennsylvania. The brightly decorated train pulls into the station on a journey that starts in Rouses Point, New York and travels through Pennsylvania and New York State.

Canadian Pacific's train is a spectacular sight as it travels through the dark of night. The brightly lit engine and cars have been decorated by CP volunteers to contribute to the merriment of the holiday season. The train is about more than entertainment though. the holiday train brings the message of the spirit of giving as volunteers at the stations along the way collect contributions of food and money to benefit lcoal food pantries. Bring along donations that will be collected ant donated to the local food pantries in communities that the train stops in.

Entertainment on the CPR TrainThe train travels through the dark of night through the countryside, delighting onlookers along the way. Scheduled stops at train stations are gathering places of fans of railroad travel and families who come to enjoy the free entertainment. The train comes to a stop, a car opens up and the entertainment begins.

Featured entertainers on the CP Holiday Train include Shaun Verreault and Melanie Doane. Shaun Verreault is a blues rocker singer/guitarist and songwriter for Canadian Live favorites Wide Mouth Mason. Melanie Doane is a Canadian songstress. The Holiday Train Producer is Randall Prescott. The entertainers put on a holiday show at each stop along the route.

The atmosphere at the stops along the way is festive. People gather in groups for the entertainment or just to see the decorated train. Photographers take advantage of an unusual photo opportunity.

Northeast Train Schedule

Following are the scheduled stops for the Northeast Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. All times are approximate. The CP website recommends checking the arrival time prior to attending the event. Stops are approximately one half hour long. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.

  • Binghamton, New York at the Canadian Pacific Binghamton Rail Yard 8:45 pm

Saturday, November 29

  • Oneonta, New York at the Gas Avenue Railroad Crossing 4:15 pm
  • Cobleskill, NY at Cobleskill Fire Department 7:15 pm
  • Delanson, NY at Main Street Railroad Crossing 9:00 pm

Sunday, November 30

  • Saratoga Springs, NY at Amtrak Station 12:45 pm
  • Fort Edward, NY at Amtrak Station 2:30 pm
  • Whitehall, NY at Amtrak Station 4:00 pm
  • Ticonderoga, NY at Pell's Crossing 5:45 pm
  • Port Henry, NY at Amtrak Station 7:15 pm
  • Plattsburgh, NY at Amtrak Station 10:00 pm
